  1. This may be outside of your strength – but you have many intelligent things to say about it.
I started following you because you are an awesome runner and I like to listen to those who have advice about what they are good at. Enjoyable.
One piece of advice: you have a great intro to your vids and by it we know that this is Sage. Would be good to have a consistent background too: Maybe showing off some of your medals, shoes and running stuff.

  2. It’s funny you mentioned those names because you, Ginger Runner, and Durianrider are my favorite YouTubers. I’ve learned a lot and become a better athlete because of all of you.

  3. Thats great sage. Great piece of advice to all strugglers out there. I m being one of them. Would like to know more about your life, about environment you lived and living in.
This giving will start the proccess of receiving.

  4. The best part of the video for me was about the working the edges of the Box. That makes a lot of sense to me. Ultra-running is at the edge, posting videos on YouTube is at the edge, even Hokas are at the edge. Another running channel I really like is Billy Yang, his films are works of art. To get a sponsorship it really helps that you are a winner. Has anyone heard of crowd-sponsoring? Pitch in money on a monthly basis to support/sponsor your favourite athletes?

  5. Sage, I watch your video’s more than other runners, Ginger runner for example, because, of you diversity. This video addresses many things, struggles for one. Keep on ranting! Making pizza, playing your instruments, whatever. This video, what I am not good at, Business strategy, gave me a lot to think about. Thanks!

  6. I’m an infrequent commenter but frequent viewer. This was an interesting talk. You covered a lot of broad array topics well in under 30 minutes.

  7. Loved this, dude. And thanks for the shout out!! You’re channel is KILLING it and you are educating THOUSANDS. Love it. Talk soon!

  8. Wow, didn’t see this one coming! Absolutely loved this! Good-read offering here in the way of ‘Smartcuts: How Hackers, Innovators, and Icons Accelerate Success’ by Shane Snow. Also, ‘The Virgin Way’ by its’ founder is time well spent.

Sage, I think you could make this a segment on your channel and as your sphere of knowledge in this type of discussion grows, so too will your sphere of influence (and your channel!) Just keep it true to your strength which is distance running as you have done here.

    Cheers!

  9. Damn, i can’t find the ‘watch later’ button so hopefully il get a notification when another comment is made…

  10. Your channel is super! As a runner, there are no real honest channels out there that covers running, training and all thing related to running. You do it well and your content is always relevant. Your videos are always informational, helpful, and made with humility. Sometimes the simplicity of the delivery and content is why it is so good. Keep up with the great work. You are intense competitor in races, but your appreciation for the sport and the fans is very true hearted. That is very appreciated.

  11. Great video Sage – and I’d be fully behind your last point in all forms of communication. Great communication is always great story telling, watch any of the best TeD talks and that’s what you see and hear.

  12. Watching your videos is like doing an easy run and improving while sitting on the couch. You are an inspiring man, never making it look better than it is, never shying away from showing or talking about failures or misses, and showing your wins and successes. Keep on doing this please, I always look forward to your videos!
